Dear members and friends of SERHA
Congratulations to our 2016 SERHA year-end champions and our NRHA world champions. With the victories and humbling rides of 2016 behind us, it is time to focus on the challenges and opportunities of 2017. SERHA plans to host two shows again this year. Our show dates are June 30-July 2, 2017 and September 21-24, 2017. The show bill for the July show can be found posted on the web site. The September show is in planning. Details will be posted soon. Please be sure to reserve the dates.
Our affiliate qualifying shows: both slates of the Carolina Classic (May 11-14, 2017) and both slates of the SERHA Main Event (June 30-July 2, 2017). Remember that you need to be a member of both NRHA and SERHA before showing at Carolina Classic in order to use those classes as qualifiers. In order to qualify, you must show in at least one qualifying class, receive as score and be in the top 15 in the class that you would like to qualify for. (The SE ARC’s will be hosted by HODRHA and held in Perry Georgia September 14-17th, 2017.)
Our SERHA year-end awards will be based solely on the SERHA shows: SERHA Main Event (June 30-July 2, 2017) and SERHA Summer's End (September 21-24, 2017). Both rider and horse owner must be SERHA members for rides to count toward awards, and you must have shown in 50% of the classes to be eligible.
We will continue to offer the Joseph Hoggard Memorial Scholarship and appreciate your support. (We will have several ways to help the scholarship in addition to holding our JHMS classes at the shows)
The last few years, and especially last year, have been challenging, financially for SERHA. The extra expenses associated with hosting the South East Affiliate Regional Championships, and the dates which we have been locked into have made it necessary for us to make our members aware that our bank account needs help to provide an increased level of comfort in hosting the quality shows which we are committed to. Thank you to all who have supported us in the past and we certainly hope that we can count on you again this year.
SERHA exists to promote reining and provide show opportunities for you. Please consider making a contribution to help us. On the membership application you will find are several levels of contributions and sponsorship information is provided on the sponsorship page. If you know of other individuals and or businesses that might be willing to sponsor at any level, we would love to work with them to find a level that works for them.
SERHA is a 501C3 non-profit organization so all contributions are tax deductible. Please join now, and if you can help in any way to support our efforts to bring quality horse shows to NC and the South East, it would be greatly appreciated.
